Bang Productions, and its subsidiary Bang Singapore, achieved critical acclaim for their production over the past 15 years of more than 100 blue chip quality productions airing in more than 150 countries around the world together with broadcasters such as NHK, PBS, France 5, Discovery and ZDF. In 2006, Bang was the first Asian production company to rank amongst Realscreen’s Top 100 Most Influential Documentary Companies in the World.
Bang Singapore co-organized Asian Side of the Doc (ASD), between 2011 and 2013 together with Sunny Side of the Doc. More than 500 people attended the 2013 ASD event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia including over 130 commissioning editors and producers and government delegations from over 45 countries.
Bang is today a leading media consultant, pioneer and evangelist for the creation of a single Asian content market encompassing the eco-system of independent producers, broadcasters, and private/public sector stakeholders. Since 2010, Bang has been advising Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) since on several multi-million dollar projects for the development of Japanese co-production projects and initiatives. Through these projects, Bang has successfully initiated over 30 co-productions between Japan and broadcasters from Europe, the USA, Africa and Asia. Bang was also responsible for negotiating and managing a bilateral co-production project between the Malaysian and Japanese governments in 2012. In 2013, Bang initiated the 1Asia co-production scheme with the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU). With the private sector, Bang has worked with more than 100 Asian companies in the branded content and media messaging area and has created complex partnerships with media platforms, NGOs such as UNESCO and consumer product companies such as Samsung and Panasonic. Bang is currently expanding into the mobile app and new media business with a focus on China.
