The Tokyo TV Forum 2011 (TTVF 2011) held in December last year received widespread attention in part due to its hosting of Japan’s first pitching sessions. Fortunately, the forum also received high praise from commissioning editors from around the world. The results were far exceeding our expectations. The worldwide concern about how Japan was recovering from the unprecedented catastrophe of the Great East Japan Earthquake was constantly in the background. TTVF 2012, being planned to be held in December, 2012, will once again focus on Japan. In post-earthquake Japan, recovery is being implemented through a wide range of approaches. In addition, serious efforts to generate new values and a sincere search for a new way of life are ongoing. A new Japanese perspective has generated interest in and involvement with foreign concerns. A wide range of projects for international co-productions proposed by Japanese filmmakers will be discussed at the forum in coming December in Tokyo.
