CCDF-11 Regulation<\/p>\n

ELIGIBILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. AIM
    \nDocumentary projects that tackle Chinese culture and society<\/li>\n
  2. THEME
    \nTopic\/subject pertaining to Chinese culture or society with strong international appeal<\/li>\n
  3. PRODUCTION STAGE
    \nProjects can be documentary shorts, documentary features,\u00a0documentary series and VR documentaries. Production status can be in development, in production or post-production. Projects that have been screened publicly will not be accepted.<\/li>\n
  4. AGE & NATIONALITY
    \nApplicant must be at least 18 years old; preference given to documentary filmmakers of Chinese descent<\/li>\n
  5. ATTENDANCE
    \nApplicant must be in key creative role, i.e. producer or director;\u00a0 selected applicants are required to attend the entire CNEX Chinese Doc Forum in Taipei City, including Training Workshop and Pitching Forum, from September 16 to 20 (Wednesday to Sunday). If unable to attend, project will be disqualified.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. English is the main language used at the Forum. Chinese-English simultaneous translation will be provided during all pitching sessions; strong command of English is preferred.<\/li>\n
  7. Either director and\/or producer can represent the project at the Forum\uff08maximum 2 reps\uff09Each project will have 15 minutes to pitch, including 7 min for introducing, and 8 min for Q&A.<\/li>\n
  8. All CCDF selected films are required to include CCDF logo in end credits.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      \nPlease note that the word limit is the same as the actual CCDF-11 pitching forum and that the panel will rely largely on this document in making evaluation.

      \nPlease feel free to include any information that you deem important for your project. Below is the suggested outline:- Motivation

      \n\u2013 Synopsis ( 450 words limited )
      \n\u2013 Treatment ( 1500 words limited )
      \n\u2013 Production schedule
      \n\u2013 Budget
      \n\u2013 Crew or key production roles (400 words limited per role)
      \n\u2013 Additional materials, ex. research report, archive, etc.
      \n3) The trailer should be 3 \u2013 5 minute long. Please upload the footage to Vimeo, Google Drive, Baidu or any other online space available to you.
      \n*Please set the trailer as downloadable and provide download password upon registration.
      \n*Trailers are just for evaluation purpose, they will not be accessible to the general public.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      4. Training Workshop: September 16 to 18, 2020 (Wednesday-Friday)<\/li>\n
      5. Pitching Forum: September 19 to 20, 2020 (Saturday-Sunday)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        SELECTION AND AWARDS<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        1. 20 Finalists\uff08up to\uff09:\u00a0Participants will attend the Training Workshop and Pitching Forum and receive valuable feedback and the opportunity to work with international producers. Organizer may subsidize participants\u2019 travel and accommodations expenses, as well as assist in obtaining visas. Details of subsidies will be discussed separately with participants at later date.<\/li>\n
        2. Pre-training Workshop: Selected project can be automatically entered to participate in CCDF pre-training workshop which will take place in July in Beijing and Taipei. In the pre-training workshop, participants can have face-to-face meetings with professional lecturers to enhance pitching and storytelling skills.<\/li>\n
        3. Awards: The awards with cash prize include \u201cBest Presented Pitch\uff02,\u201dProject with Most International Potential Special Fund\u201d. In addition, prizes provide by other international pitching forum include \u201cASD Award\u201d , \u201cTokyo Docs Award\u201d, \u201cSheffield Film Festival Award,\u201d \u201cIDFA Award,\u201d \u201cDocs Port Incheon Award”\u2026etc \u201c which may recommend projects directly into international documentary markets, or CNEX may executively produce projects in order to receive international funding or distribution (The Organizer reserves the right to amend the awards).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
