CCDF-7 NINE AWARDS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Taipei, Taiwan<\/em>: After an intense three days of training with eight top international documentary experts and two full days of pitching to broadcasters, online services, distributors, foundations and festival directors from 17 countries, the seventh edition of the annual CNEX Chinese Doc Forum<\/strong> (CCDF-7) <\/strong>held its closing ceremonies and handed out nine major prizes.<\/strong> The big winners were Bank in School<\/em><\/strong> from Taiwan and People\u2019s Hospital<\/em><\/strong> from China.<\/p>\n

The prize for Best Pitch presented by CNEX and worth US$5,000 went to Taiwan\u2019s Maso Chen for Bank in School,<\/em><\/strong> which also picked up two other awards from Sheffield Doc\/Fest and China\u2019s GZDOC. Chen Si-yi and Xu Ruo-han\u2019s People\u2019s Hospital <\/em><\/strong>won the CNEX-Illinois Public Media Research and Development Prize worth US$5,000 to the filmmakers and US$5,000 for CNEX to executive produce the film as well as a prize from IDFA, one of the world\u2019s leading documentary festivals in Amsterdam. This project was deemed to have the greatest international potential.<\/p>\n

These prizes enable strong Chinese documentary projects to progress their development and to be exposed at other international events to new audiences of potential investors and buyers.<\/p>\n

The combination of training, pitching to the world and a two-day Producers\u2019 Workshop (26-27 September) at CCDF-7 which has developed many leading Chinese productions over the past six years is enriched by this bouquet of prizes presented Sunday evening.
