Every year, its program of some 300 films each draws an audience of over 270,000 (2015). Additionally, IDFA&#8217;s various industry activities (the two markets Docs for Sale and IDFA Forum as well as the IDFAcademy training program and the IDFA Bertha Fund) are host to more than 3,000 professional guests during the festival and have a strong (online) presence throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 1998, the festival initiated the IDFA Bertha Fund (IBF, then known as the Jan Vrijman Fund) to support the makers of creative documentaries in developing countries.<\/p>\n<p>The IDFA Bertha Fund has developed into an internationally renowned institution with a broad network, supporting over 600 documentary projects and film organizations in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin &#8211; America and the Middle-East.
