Elizabeth McIntyre is the new CEO and Director of Sheffield Doc\/Fest, whilst still serving as Documentary Campus Head of Masterschool 2015, leading its training programme for emerging European talent. Prior to that, she was Head of Production and Development Factual Discovery UK, and Factual commissioner for Discovery Networks International. She was responsible for developing, commissioning and executive producing local and international content, to play globally, including the US.<\/p>\n

For the international market, commissions include the global hits Extreme Car Hoarders, Ed Stafford Naked and Marooned, Engine Addict Jimmy de Ville, Incredible Engineering Blunders and You Have Been Warned. For the local UK Discovery channels, her commissions include the hits Combat Dealers, Salvage Hunters, Idris Elba No Limits and Sean Conway Running Britain. Specials include The Great White Silence and Home Front Britain, both in association with the BFI. Other documentary specials include George Cross Heroes in association with the Imperial War Museum.<\/p>\n

McIntyre is on the Board of Women in Film & Television, and the BAFTA TV Committee.<\/p>\n

She has been a committee member for the Science Congress, and a chair and judge for the Grierson Awards, the One World Media Awards, the Broadcast Digital Awards and the BAFTAs.<\/p>\n

She has been active in mentoring schemes, such as Sheffield Doc\/Fest\u00b9s Meet the Academics and the Discovery internship scheme.\u00a0 Previously, McIntyre worked in production as a documentary and other factual programmes maker, such as The Lost Children of Berlin for Steven Spielberg (Ed Murrow Award); No Place Like Home (BBC); Dangerous Love (BBC); Five Steps to Tyranny (BBC); Missing (BBC); Heart of the Matter (BBC) and the Emmy Award winning Watergate (Brook Lapping for BBC).<\/p>\n

She is originally from Chester, with long term voluntary involvement with the Chester Festival and is a graduate of the University of Birmingham.<\/p>\n
