Her main role with the DFP is to expand the roster of\u00a0\ufb01lmmakers\u00a0 working\u00a0 with\u00a0 the\u00a0 program\u00a0 and\u00a0 broaden\u00a0 the\u00a0 human\u00a0 rights\u00a0 themes\u00a0 that the program explores. Bruni has been working at the intersection between human rights and arts and culture for the past 20 years. From 1991 \u2013 2008 she was the director of the Human Rights Watch International Film Festival (which she also co-founded.) In 2011, in partnership with the International Centre for Transitional Justice, Bruni produced the documentary,\u00a0<em>La Toma (The Siege)<\/em>, which explores the lasting cultural and political impact of the 1985 siege of Palace of Justice in Colombia.<\/p>\n<p>Bruni participates at international documentary pitching forums and events,\u00a0\u00a0 and works closely with\u00a0filmmakersdeveloping human rights themed projects.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sundance Institution<\/p>\n<p>Sundance Institute, founded by Robert Redford in 1981, is dedicated to the development of artists of independent vision. Sundance Documentary Film Program provides year\u00adround support to contemporary issue, non\ufb01ction\u00a0\ufb01lmmakers worldwide in the production and exhibition of cinematic\u00a0 documentaries with human rights themes. The program includes: the Documentary Fund, the Documentary and Creative Producers Labs, Work In Progress Screenings, \u201cSTORIES OF CHANGE: Social Entrepreneurship In Focus Through Documentary\u201d in partnership with the Skoll Foundation, and\u00a0\u00a0 Docsource which connects\uf001\ufb01lmmakers and human rights stakeholders worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>DFP grants to 40-50 docs annually, often in coproduction with broadcasters internationally.
