CAAM is one of five minority consortia funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in the U.S. Donald oversees CAAM\u2019s national PBS broadcasts and productions. He also supervises CAAM\u2019s Media Fund and Digital Media departments in addition to the San Francisco\u00a0International Asian American Film Festival.<\/p>\n<p>Donald has focused much of his energies towards developing opportunities for emerging Asian American producers through both documentaries and independent feature films.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Donald has produced a number of films including<em>Searching for Asian America<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Princess of Nebraska<\/em>\u00a0by Wayne Wang, and\u00a0<em>Fruit Fly<\/em>\u00a0by H.P. Mendoza. In recent years, CAAM has refocused its work to more fully support Asian American talent as a full-service co-production partner. CAAM has just completed two commissioned productions that will air on the PBS national schedule in 2013: a music documentary on internationally-renowned ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro, and an up-close film about race and politics through the failed re-election efforts of U.S. Congressman Anh &#8220;Joseph&#8221; Cao in Louisiana.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Centre for Asian American Media, CAAM<\/p>\n<p>The Centre for Asian American Media (CAAM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to presenting stories that convey the richness and diversity of Asian American experiences to the broadest audience possible. We do this by funding, producing, distributing and exhibiting works in film, television and digital media.<\/p>\n<p>CAAM provides funding and support for provocative and engaging Asian American film and media projects from independent producers. CAAM awards production and completion funds for projects intended for public television broadcast. Since 1990, more than $3 million has been granted to over 200 projects that have won the most prestigious awards in film.<\/p>\n<p>CAAM presents innovative, engaging Asian American works on public television. Since launching the groundbreaking Asian American anthology series\u00a0<em>Silk Screen<\/em>\u00a0on PBS, CAAM continues to bring award-winning works to millions of viewers nationwide.<\/p>\n<p>CAAM also presents the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (SFIAAFF) every March.
