Senior producer, International Acquisition and co-production, NHK\u00a0Enterprises<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Imamura entered NHK in 1983 as a TV director. His main focus of
\ninterest has been in international affairs and has directed and produced
\nprograms. His program “The Crisis in the South China Sea” was awarded
\nthe prestigious \u201cGalaxy Award\u201d in Tokyo. He has long been producing news
\nprograms, but apart from this he was also involved in NHK\u2019s \u201cDigital Stadium\u201d,
\nwhich introduced innovative and up-and-coming artists throughout Japan.<\/p>\n

Between 2005-2009, he worked for MICO (Media International Corporation),
\nthe business arm of NHK which distributes NHK programs abroad. He oversaw
\ndeveloping the NHK programs to make them available for the international
\nmarket. He was a speaker for the BCWW in Korea and the Seminar on Overseas
\nContent Promotion in Hangzhou held by the State Administration of Radio, Film
\nand TV of China.<\/p>\n

Since 2009, he has been transferred to NHK headquarters and is the producer
\nand the commissioning editor of the slot \u201cWorld Documentary\u201d. For this daily
\nprogram, NHK acquires 90 documentaries from abroad and co-produces 20
\nprograms a year. He has been attending IDFA, Hotdocs, Sheffield Film Festival,
\nAsian Side of the Doc etc.<\/p>\n

He is also the executive producer of the Asian Pitch or TAP. TAP is the co-
\nproducition project for Asian filmmakers organized by Media Corp, KBS and
\nNHK.<\/p>\n

Imamura graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law, in 1983. He is
\na big fan of football.<\/p>\n

\nTV production and distribution, international film festivals to event planning,
\nour activities include international co-productions with major broadcasters,
\nprogramming for the Asian Film Festival, and producing world-class events
\nlike the Tokyo Jazz Festival. We are constantly taking from its genre-crossing
\nnetwork to link, combine, and forge new markets for innovative projects.<\/p>\n
