\nFocus on international co-productions in the fields of current affairs, social and
\npolitical issues. Not focussed on fine arts, music and purely cultural themes.<\/p>\n

NDR
\nNDR (Norddeutscher Rundfunk\/ North German Broadcasting) is a public radio and
\ntelevision broadcaster, based in Hamburg, Germany. In addition to the city-state
\nof Hamburg, NDR transmits for the German states of Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-
\nVorpommern and Schleswig-Holstein. NDR maintains a regional broadcasting
\nserviece NDR fernsehen broadcasting 24\/7 broadcasting content mainly focussed
\non the regions NDR covers. In addition NDR is a member of the ARD consortium.
\nARD is a joint organization of Germany’s regional public-service broadcasters
\nand the world’s second largest public broadcaster after the British Broadcasting
\nCorporation, with a budget of \u20ac6.3 billion and 23,000 employees. The budget comes
\nprimarily from licence fees required for the use of radio and TV sets in Germany.
\nARD maintains and operates a national television network, called Das Erste. ARD’s
\nprograms are aired over its own terrestrial broadcast network, as well as via cable,
\nsatellite and IPTV.ARD also produces three free-to-air digital channels (EinsFestival,
\nEinsPlus and Tagesschau24) and participates in the production of cable\/satellite
\nchannels Phoenix (current events, news and documentaries), KI.KA (children’s
\nprogrammes), 3sat (cultural\/traditional programming) and arte (Franco-German
\ncultural programming). ARD’s constituent broadcasting institutions operate 54
\nregional and local radio stations and seven regional TV networks, some of which
\nsplit further during certain parts of the day. ARD also owns international broadcaster
\nDeutsche Welle. ARD’s regional members are BR, HR, MDR, NDR, Radio Bremen,
